Have you always wanted to get computer repair training but could not afford to go back to school? You can learn pc repair in the comfort of your own home and on your own time. Computer repair is a very lucrative business. Someone trained in computers can apply to work for a repair company as a technician, or start his own repair business. Learning computer repair can turn into a business opportunity and save you money at the same time. If you already have a full-time job but want to learn new skills, one of the following training options may help you learn computer repair at home.

Distance Learning Programs

Take an online course. Ashworth College offers a career diploma program in PC Service and Repair. Payment plans make tuition easy and affordable. Tuition costs are $694 with a monthly payment of $29. Lessons and exams are given online with access to tutoring assistance if needed. Ashworth College is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (see Reference section).

Take a Correspondence Course

Enroll in a correspondence course. Penn Foster Career School offers a PC maintenance and repair course. Study at your own pace and from home. The cost for the computer repair training course is much less than enrolling in a regular college course. The cost of the course is $774, and can be paid all at once or spread out over monthly payments. Students in the military qualify for tuition reimbursement. Computer Repair Training Software

Purchase computer repair training programs. Learn at your own pace with learning software. Software programs are available to teach you computer repair and a variety of other computer-related skills. The Computer Repair Mastery course is available on DVD for $97 and digital download for $67 (see Reference section).

Independent Study (self-taught)

Buy a book on computer repair or learn from free online tutorials. These are just basic lessons to help you understand how a computer works and how to repair hardware or software-related problems. If you do not have the time to take a class, online tutorials will give you a little quick information that you can use to repair your computer. Many online retailers carry computer repair training books and study materials.

Tips
Learning computer repair can save you paying for costly repairs done in a shop. Technicians charge for parts and labor, which can add up to an expensive repair job. Learning to repair your own computer saves money and can turn into a paying career for a quick study.
