How to Recognize a Moocher on Your First Date

HMCS
New online dating sites are popping up every day, and more single men and women are joining these sites to find that special someone for friendship, companionship, romance or marriage. It is a global phenomenon, and there seems to be no slowing down of this trend when it comes to finding a date on the World Wide Web. The types of people found on these sites are vast. Of course, there are the serious ones who are truly looking for love, and then you have the individuals who are just looking to mooch off your hard earn money.

When you are searching for a man or a woman on the Internet, their photo and/or personal details will not provide you with an in-depth history about that poster and may come over as an individual who is trustworthy, decent and self-reliant. As you begin to chat with your new online pal, you may get the feeling that a love connection is about to develop. Your next step may be to take that online rapport to the next level by arranging to meet him or her in person. You finally meet for the first time, and believe that this relationship is going to work. But, as you begin to listen to your inner voice, you begin to observe that something is definitely wrong, but you will continue to see this person until his or her true self, starts to show. While we recognize that moochers come in all genders, the focus here, is on women who seem to become moocher men enablers.

Whether we realize it or not, a moocher will show his true intensions immediately, although some will wait before springing into action when it comes to worming their way into your life. Sometimes a woman will intentionally or unconsciously ignore the in your face warnings, to the point where she will be burned before grasping that the person, whom she was attracted to, was actually looking for a sugar mommy. The moocher will always send out clues, so much, so that he will warn you that a speeding train is approaching, but because you are so captivated by his alluring façade that you will allow him to push you in front of that train. So, before you get involved in any romantic relationship, pay attention and watch out for the apparent indicators that he out to tap into your bank account:

On the fist date, he informs you that he is unemployed, is having problems paying his bills and mortgage and will have dinner at your place.

He will bring you a half-full bottle of wine.

You and your date are drinking for hours at a bar on your tab.

He asks you to co-sign a loan to buy a car because he has bad credit.

He needs help with his child support payments, which have been in arrears for five years.

He is planning to divorce his wife but needs money to hire a lawyer.

There will always be cautionary codes coming your way, which should make you take note and conclude, "Something is not right here; this relationship is not going to work, and it is time for me to say farewell." Learn to say no and WALK AWAY.
