How to Record Internet Radio on Your Computer

Phantom Rose
Listening to the radio online is becoming an increasingly popular activity due to the integration of digitalization into our everyday lives. Most everybody has access to the Internet, eliminating the need for the traditional radio. Users can instead simply listen to their favorite music via Internet radio stations. Yet, sometimes users do not always experience connectivity to the Internet, but they may still want to listen to music on their computers without having to purchase the tracks. With the assistance of the appropriate software, users can record music online directly from Internet radio stations.

Things You'll Need

Total Recorder

Step 1

Go to the Internet radio station from which you would like to record music.

Step 2

Open the Total Recorder program and click on the red record button to begin recording the music that is playing on the Internet radio station.

Step 3

Click the stop button to stop the recording process, and then click "File" and "Save As" to save the music just recorded.

Tips

Listen to long files and cut and save individual song sections to break extended radio recordings down into individual songs.

Warnings

Do not open other Web pages or programs that feature beeps or any other sounds, for they will be recorded onto your recording as well.
