Did you forget to buy a Mother's Day gift card to go along with that gift for Mom? Many gift givers often forget to buy a gift card for a gift and then realize that the stores are closed or they don't have time to drive on over to the nearest gift shop. So, they are in a state of panic. No need to worry. There is an easy way to handle this problem. Here is how to craft recycled gift cards out of items around the house.

Recycled Mother's Day Gift Card Instructions

Always save those holiday greeting cards, birthday cards, graduation cards, anniversary cards. They are great material for recycling or crafting projects. Remember recycling reduces waste and is good for our environment. Plus, the greeting cards are exceptionally easy to transform into an attractive gift card to attach to that Mother's Day gift. Good cards to use are those with bright metallic golds, silver colors, or shiny reds. They really jazz up the gift card, making it look extra unique and special. And of course, if carried out properly, Mom should not even suspect that the gift card was once a greeting card.

Now go through the greeting cards and select a card that has an appropriate design that matches the gift-wrap or the Mother's Day present. Or try to find a card that is in the same color range. Once an appropriate design is found tear off the message part of the greeting card. This is the inside portion. If the card is too large or there is writing on the front portion, simply take scissors and cut a small square shape out of the card that is the proper size and free of writing. Use a ruler to measure and cut out a perfect square if hands are unsteady.

3. Craft pens are an excellent touch for the gift cards. Use a craft pen on the back of the picture portion to write a message to mom on Mother's Day. If craft pens aren't available use a regular ink pen in vibrant color. Use a hand-held hole punch to punch a hole on the side of the gift card. Draw a pretty red or pink ribbon through the punched hole and tie the ribbon around the gift. Of course, this last step is optional.
