How to Redecorate a Room for $600

mary snyder
You have the room and you want to change it into a dining room. First shop around for your furniture, dining room table, china cabinet. Check yard sales, moving sales. You will find great deals here. The dining room set you see in the pictures was purchased for $100.00. Table, chairs and china cupboard.
It is suggested you shop first for your furniture so you can better group your colors together.

What color do you want in your room? Do you have a favorite color? Paint or wallpaper your walls, add your trim. You can find quality paints and paper on sale all summer long. Shop around, get the best deal. Cost of the paint used in photos, $50.00 total.

Look for any additional furniture you may want such as a curio cabinet, or clock. The Grandfather clock shown was a gift, but was purchased for $140.00 online. Although it is not the top of the line in clocks, it does make a warm statement to the room. There is a painting that was purchased on line, it cost $139.00 but had it made especially to accent the room. The curio was purchased for $70.00.

Your arts and crafts shops or sections in retail stores will give you many ideas on ways to accent your furnishings. Leafy vines cut into sections and placed on-top of the china cupboard is a good accent. As seen in the picture, you can add assorted vines anywhere in the room.

Lace curtains were chosen because of the versatility and cost. The total cost of the curtains $40.00. Wall hangings and pictures can range in price, but most of what you see was purchased for $5.00 to $15.00. When it is all brought together, you have a very nice finished product and it did not break the checkbook.

You can also find taper candles in about any color to accent the table. The candles used here are a wine color and purchased for $4.00. So no matter what you are shopping for, take your time and you will find the right items at the right price.

Mix it up, you may have items you stored in the closet or attic, bring them into the room, see if it fits the look your after. It's a good way to recycle items tucked away and forgotten about.

The dining room set was purchased at a moving sale. Was a very lucky break because it was not on the list that day to go to, just happened upon it.
