At egiva.com, registration is free and easy to do. A series of fill-in-the-blanks screens takes you through the process. Provide an email address and select your user name to begin. Check your email for the verification link and click it. You're in! Just complete your profile and you're ready to use egiva.

Tip: If you don't want to use your regular email, sign up for one of the free email services and use that address. egiva.com won't spam you, whatever address you use.

Step One: Add a profile photo. While optional, you'll find the photo makes it easier to identify your own entries later. Use a 300 X 300 pixel image.

Tip: No, it doesn't HAVE to be a photo of you, if you'd rather not. A favorite flower, your pet or just an image you love to see will work as well.

Step Two: This screen helps to match you up with others in your own area, individuals and groups. The information is regional, not personal. egiva.com values your privacy.

Step Three: Invite your friends, colleagues and coworkers. To invite several at once, separate their email addresses with commas. Use the default message or add your own personal note. The more people who are using egiva.com, the more opportunities all of the users have for donating or receiving goods.

Tip: Think of those with interests like yours. egiva.com is a great resource for churches, schools, parent-teachers organizations, sports leagues and other common-interest groups.

Once you've completed your registration, you're ready to give and find items on egiva.com. Any of the information in these steps can be edited or modified later.

egiva.com is the realization of a dream for Virginia Miller-Weiseth, a California schoolteacher who wanted a way to connect those who have with those in need. She began with a site for her own church, then expanded the ministry for others.
