Step 1
** Figuring out what .ocx file you need **
Try and run your Booter. You should be getting a registry error and it will say which .ocx file is missing. Once you see this, write down the name of the file that is missing. Use exact spelling with and it is case sensititve.
Step 2
** Locating the .ocx file needed and downloading it **
1. Log in to your boon-dog account. ( we created one on my last HowTo, if you don't have one go check out my other articles and create an account, it's free )
2.. Go to www.boon-dog.com
3. Go to the downloads section. Go to the Missing Files section. Look through all the missing files that they have available for download and locate the one that matches the one your missing. If for some reason they don't have it, they can be downloaded from many sites on the web just make sure that after you download any .ocx file you should scan it thoroughly with an antivirus program. Also most websites that have DLL downloads will also have the .ocx files available for download.
4. Once you've found your .ocx file. Download it to your desktop.
Step 3
** Registering the missing .ocx file **
Pay attention to every step exactly how it's said and in order
1. Click on the start menu in the lower left hand corner of your Windows based computer
2.
A. If running Microsoft Vista type "CMD" in the search bar, once the program comes up, right click Cmd and select "Run as Administrator". This will now open Command Prompt ( C:Windows\system32> )
B. If running XP just go to run and type in CMD
3. Minimize the Cmd window. Go back to start menu and type in system32. Once that folder comes up, double click and open it. Scroll all the way down until you start seeing the .dll and .ocx files at the bottom of the folder.
4. Grab the .ocx file that you downloaded to your desktop and "drag and drop" it into your system32 folder
5. Go back to CMD. Type this in exactly like a say. The word (space) is one hit of the space bar. Don't type in the word space.
regsvr32(space) /v (space) "nameofocxfile.ocx" , then hit enter. It should tell you that it's been registered successfully.
6. Try running the booter again. If everything's good it should open up correctly. If you get another error for a different file name, then go back through the steps until all missing files are corrected.
Tips & Warnings
Follow the directions carefully, read and re-read each step before moving on
Again, if running a Booter, resist the urge to boot "just because", it gets highly annoying.
Be careful when placing files in your system32 folder. This houses all the needed processes that makes your computer run. Read and Re-read before moving on.
SCAN ANY DOWNLOADED FILES BEFORE MOVING ON. DO THIS WITH ALL FILES, NOT JUST YAHOO BOOTERS.
