Food Makes a Difference
We learned the right food really makes a difference. It is best, not only for the dogs overall health but for the gas as well, to use a good food. Many low cost foods do not have the proper nutrition dogs need. It can lead to imbalances in their digestion and poor nutrition. To treat gas naturally make sure you feed your dog high quality dog food with the full nutrition requirements they need.
When choosing a dog food, choose one designed for sensitive stomachs or one that supports healthy digestion. This simple switch can make a huge difference in the gas situation and make your dog feel better in the process. Gas is not only uncomfortable for your nose but the dog as well. Gas can cause pain and discomfort for your pet. Luckily, the right dog food can change that.
Eating Habits
A pets eating habits can cause them to suffer from excessive gas. Making simple changes to a dogs eating habits can often relieve the gas. Often, gas is caused from a dog eating too fast or too large of quantities at once. The gas can simply be relieved by limiting the food portions your pet receives. Give your pet smaller portions more frequently through out the day. This will educe the chance of them rapidly eating large amounts of food, resulting in gas.
Make sure you limit the amount of the table scraps and treats your gassy pet eats. This can lead to an improper diet and even overall gas. It is best to only give your pet a treat once a day and no table scraps. Table scraps are bad for a pet to eat any way.
Yogurt May Help
Often gas in a dog is caused by an imbalance in their digestion. Yogurt can actually fix the imbalances and relieve the gas. Giving your dog 1 tablespoon of yogurt a day will help relieve the gas. Yogurt contains natural probiotics that will aid in resolving the gassiness in your pet. Make sure you do not give them too much yogurt because it can cause another imbalance in their digestion. You will need to watch your pet when you first give them the yogurt because some dogs are lactose intolerant and it can lead to diarrhea.
Although these remedies work well to naturally relieve the gas in your beloved pet, it is best to take them to a vet before trying them. Excessive gas in pets can be a sign of an underlying health condition. To rule out any possible health complications, take them to a vet first just to be on the safe side.

Post a CommentVery good advice. Reminds me of my dog Dano, who when we said "pardon" after a foul smell came up, he'd look guilty, hang his head, and leave the room!
I think this article may save many pet owners lives. LOL The yogurt part was especially interesting, I'd never heard that before.
