How to Remember Your Dreams

Belle Pierdon
Years ago I went to a counselor for dreams that I was having quite often. I could not remember much of what I was dreaming but I would wake up upset and sometimes crying. The counselor was amazing! Her office was a beautiful respite, with flowers, plants and wonderful scents and aromas filling the room. Every visit she offered me herbal tea with a little strainer and lovely china for it to be served in. I did not have health insurance back then but she continued to see me and when I asked to make payment arrangements she told me not to worry about it and she ended up not charging me at all!! My last visit with her was an emergency, of sorts. I phoned her and she told me that she was on her way out of the office and she asked if I would come to her home; the last session was held there. Her home was the most beautiful relaxing home I've ever seen in my life!

Here is what this amazingly wonderful woman taught me about remembering my dreams: 1) Always have a notepad and pencil (not pen) by your bedside. 2) Before you get out of bed, when you wake up, write down anything, little or big, right away! This part is the most important part! Each entry logged in your daily journal, you WILL remember more and more! I couldn't believe how much I was writing by the end of the first month. I was remember dreams that could have been long enough to create a movie, even though the dreams were in reality not that long. She taught me how to decipher my dreams and this is pretty easy too. There are plenty of ways to decipher the meaning of your dreams with on line or books. You will soon discover what your fears are and what, if anything, holds you back in life. It's a freeing experience and educational too. The hardest part is sticking to the writing down your dreams before getting out of bed and doing it everyday. It opens your conscience up to recognize what was rolling around in your head while you were sleeping.
