How to Remember Your Wedding Day

"I Don't Remember a Thing!"

From Diana
"I don't remember a thing about my wedding day! It went by so fast." This is the number one statement I hear from brides, and their parents, at the end of their wedding day. It's true, your wedding day is planned for months and then...poof! It's over, with absolutely no memory of what just happened except for a mind-numbing blur.

Yes, you have wonderful photographs but how do you remember the reality of your wedding day? Mini-pics. As I explain to brides 'before' their wedding day, or any day that you want to remember forever, take mini mental photographs throughout your day. If you need to, assign a bridesmaid, friend, or relative to remind you to take the mini-pics.

These are just a few examples of mini-pics you can take throughout your wedding day:

1.) When you first wake up on your wedding day, take a mental mini-pic of the first thing you see, be it a crinkle in your pillow or your wedding dress hanging on your closet door. Don't just look at the crinkle or your wedding dress...really close your eyes like they are the shutter on a camera closing and you are printing the photograph in your mind. Your first mini-pic has been taken.

2.) Just after you put on your wedding dress and veil, you prepare to put on your lipstick. As you concentrate on the application take a mini-pic of yourself in the mirror. Smile!

3.) On your walk down the aisle to your husband-to-be you notice one particular rose petal on the aisle runner, take a mini-pic of this rose petal. It's a very small detail, but it works.

4.) A special mini-pic you might want to take on your wedding day is your first dance with your new husband or when you have your father/daughter dance. Closing your eyes for just a moment, take a mini-pic of his first words to you as he places your hand in his.

Later, when you recall your wedding day, it won't be the mind-numbing blur many brides talk about but a day in which you will remember each and every moment. One mini-pic every hour or so will keep your wedding day a memory forever so that when you see your wedding day photographs for the first time you can truly say, "I remember this!"
