How to Remove Your Desktop Picture to Increase Startup Speed

As simple as it sounds removing your desktop picture from your computer will increase your computer's startup speed since anything that the computer has to draw on screen uses up memory. Although this little trick isn't one that will make your computer extremely fast it will allow your process and ram to focus a little better more on other programs and services. This is because when your computer loads it's operating system it must load all the start up programs,services as well as a bunch of there computer components. When you take out some of these programs or visual effects (the desktop picture in this case) your computer can completely skip drawing that on screen and move down the list to the next process to handle.

Like I have mentioned before small increases to making your computer faster add up, so don't think that this won't make a difference because it will combined with all of the other methods I will be teaching you. This technique is once again for people who are low on resources,memory,and processing power. If your computer is really fast and has lots of ram then this probably won't help you at all. This is because you system will have more than enough ram and processing power to handle the extra drawings and processes. If your computer is a power house then I suggest that you just keep your desktop picture on your computer (you spent all that money on ram might as well use it). If your ready to begin just follow the next four easy steps and you will be one step closer to a faster computer.

1.)Right click on your desktop and from that drop down box click on the properties button

2.)Towards the top of this window there is a desktop button so click on it

3.)In the area that lets you choose your desktop picture choose the one that says "None"

4.)Finally, click apply and then ok

By removing the picture on your desktop, your computer can use less time and memory doing other tasks instead of having to draw one more extra thing which in this case is the desktop picture. When dealing with a slower computer that is short on ram it's always best to remove these flashy visual effects. This will allow your ram to be used on the processes it's supposed made for instead of drawing unneeded items on the screen.
