How to Remove Embarrassing Pictures from Facebook

Tom Servo
Everybody loves to scroll through Facebook for hours just looking at people's pictures. Similarly, everyone loves sharing pictures of them self on Facebook... that is, until someone else posts an embarrassing picture of them. I know, when this happens it's absolutely terrifying. The good news is there is a way you can remove embarrassing pictures of yourself from Facebook.

Now, this is actually a removal process. Don't confuse it with untagging yourself. When you untag yourself from a photo, you're still there, you've just prevented people from seeing it in your tagged photos library.

Step 1. Login to Facebook.

Login to your Facebook account and scroll down to the "Applications" button and click on it. Then click on "Browse More Applications."

Step 2. Search for Wisk-it."

Enter "Wisk-it" into the search bar and press the enter/return key. Then click the blue button that says "Go to Application" underneath the Wisk-it icon.

Step 3. Allow the application.

Click the "Allow" button to allow the Wisk-it application to access your profile.

Step 4. Choose to allow publishing or not.

If you want the Wisk-it application to publish activities to your wall, click "Allow Publishing." If you do not want it to do this, click "Don't Allow Publishing."

Step 5. Find pictures of you.

Now you will be able to see all the tagged pictures of yourself and select them. If you want to find pictures of yourself that have not been tagged, you can browse through your friends photo albums by typing their name in the box on the right.

Step 6. Select pictures to be removed.

Hover over the pictures of yourself in the left column and select the ones you would like to be removed. Once you do this, Wisk-it will send a request to the people that posted the pictures of you to remove them. All the recipient has to do is accept the request and allow Wisk-it access to their profile.

Of course, the each friend Wisk-it sends a request to will have the option to ignore if they wish. But it still beats the heck out of manually sending each of them a message. A lot of your friends might also ignore the request, because they don't want to install the Wisk-it app, but still get the hint and remove your picture from their profile. Hopefully you found this guide helpful. Now, go to Facebook and get rid of all those embarrassing pictures before everyone sees them.
