How to Remove Facebook Sidebar Ticker on Newsfeed and Games

The new ticker on Facebook on the newsfeed, and the games is not only annoying, and cumbersome, but it's also causing undue lag to user's world wide. I was more annoyed with the sidebar ticker being in my games section then any other. I don't play games that often on Facebook, it's just I don't care to stalk my friends every move. I think there should be a higher sense of privacy, and security. I did a lot of research tweaking, hunting, and finally come up with the way to remove the sidebar ticker on the newsfeed, and games in Facebook. Removal of the sidebar ticker is a lot easier if you use Google Chrome, than is it for Firefox.

For Google Chrome you can simply download the hide Facebook sidebar ticker which blocks the ticker all together. Just click on the "install" button and the news ticker is gone for good.

Using Firefox it's a bit more tricky right now, at least since NoScript and AdBlockPlus haven't got their act together in blocking it. You will need to download the add-on called Greasemonkey. You will have to restart after the download. After you have restarted go to get the "Remove Facebook Sidebar Ticker II" click the "install" button at the top right. Follow the directions for install, and restart Firefox.

In Firefox, you will now see a blip of the feed, and it will quickly disappear. While I realize Facebook isn't done updating to their new V8, I simply can't put up with what they have already. This will work for now, and who knows perhaps after the update, it will take care of any other horrible changes that come our way.

Be sure to share this with your friends before they decide to cancel their account. I've lost over 50 friends who swear they will not return due to the horrible changes, and those yet to come.

One important thing to remember when it comes to Facebook, no matter what they do, there will always be scripts, blocks, or add-ons you can grab. These extras will make your Facebook experience easier to handle. It just takes a few days for the scripts, blocks, add-ons to roll out.

The Facebook sidebar ticker in games will appear with games at the top, but nothing in the feed section, and nothing will update. The sidebar will blip with information, but will quickly close.
