How to Remove Fonts for Extra Speed on Your Computer

C. O.
Believe it or not fonts on your computer can really use a lot of resources which can cause your computer to slow down some. This is a great way to increase speeds as all your doing is removing fonts that you might not even use as your computer's wasting speed on items that you have no use for. Although it's not a good idea to remove all your fonts, it is smart to remove the ones that you don't use to use less resources taking more pressure off of your ram and processor. Remember that any fonts that are removed will no longer be recognized so if your computer can't find that specific font it will make a default font that won't be the intended one. So it's best to just remove the ones you don't use or won't use as like I have said before this is just wasting computer resources.

1.)Click on start and go to the control panel icon

2.)From here double click on the fonts icon to open it up

3.)Now move the fonts you don't need to a temporarily folder for backup purposes just so you will have them if you ever need to put them back in the fonts folder and your finished.

When I say a temporarily folder I mean a folder that you put somewhere safe as a backup on your computer. You should do this just so you can a font(s) back into the fonts folder if you ever need it rather then deleting it from your computer and not having it at all. If you do accidentally delete a font you don't need to worry since I'm sure you can look up on the internet and find a place to download the missing font(s). One tip to point out is the more fonts you remove from the fonts folder the more resources you will accumulate. If at any point you decide that you want to add certain fonts if not all of them back into the fonts folder just in case something uses these fonts then go to your backup font folder. Now just drag and drop these fonts back into the fonts folder and all of your once removed fonts will be in working order again. Keeping this backup folder for fonts makes it easier to add or delete fonts you might plan to use while making it quicker then having to search on the internet for fonts you might have deleted.
