Like wigs and adhesives, there are various products on the market that can be used to remove your full lace wig. Some work better than others so it is all about which ones you prefer and works best for you. Before we start, you may want to pull your hair back into a pony tail style to better remove your wig and access without getting extra hair caught in the process. Here are a few suggestions of what you can purchase to remove your wig. With any of these removers, once you apply, you must wait a certain amount of time for the solution to penetrate before you can begin lifting and slowly removing. C-22 is a good remover which works well on tape or glue adhesives. It often comes in a spray bottle and has a pleasant citrus smell. Lace Release works the same way, comes in a spray bottle in various sizes and is a non oily base and works just as good as any other. Davlyn Green Lace Release is also a popular one that comes in a bottle, this solution is gentle on the skin and a great remover. Be careful not to put to much remover and avoid getting it in your eyes. All of these adhesive removers can be found online at either wig vendors websites or sites such as eBay.
If you cannot get your hands on any of these removers, no need to worry, you can go to any pharmacy and purchase 91 or more percent Isopropyl alcohol which is a great remover and works on any adhesive, it is a bit strong, but it gets the job done. Baby oil is also known to help as a remover if you do not have anything else on hand although the process may take a bit longer and can be a little messy than other solutions. Remember to take our time when removing your lace front or full lace wig, you do not want to tear the lace or damage your skin during the process.
These removers are also great to get rid of the residue from the adhesive which will most likely be on the edges of your wig. Make sure to apply a good amount to fully rid of it. If you still find it hard to completely remove even just a little bit of the adhesive, take a small mirror and rub it on to the edges of the wig where the glue or tape has become sticky on our wig until completely off. Once all residue from glue or tape is removed, you can wash your wig if you wish and remember to always place your wig on a wig stand when not in use to retain its shape.
