White Vinegar
White vinegar can be used to treat many stains. Grass stains are one of the most frequent. There is one thing to remember when using white vinegar- colorfast. If your blue jeans are colorfast then douse the area with white vinegar. Some grass stains will come out immediately. If it doesn't then soak in the vinegar up to 2 hours. By this point, even the toughest of any grass stain will be gone.
If you blue jeans are not colorfast or you're not sure, then go the safe route. Use one part white vinegar, and one part water. When using the half and half, you will have to soak them. Usually up to 2 hours. After treating them, throw them in the wash and they are as good as new.
Arm & Hammer brand Tooth Whitening Toothpaste
Yes, believe it or not, toothpaste. While not just any toothpaste will do the trick, Arm & Hammer brand Tooth Whitening Toothpaste will. Simply squeeze enough on the stain to cover it, and rub it in. The grittiness and the baking soda will have it clean in no time. After treating the grass stain, throw the blue jeans in the wash as normal.
Goop
Goop is a house hold cleaner that can be used for hundreds of different things. One of the best uses so far has been removing grass stains. Simply apply a small amount on to the grass stain. Work in thoroughly so that it has saturated the stain. Once fully saturated, use a nickel or your finger nail to 'scratch' the stain. Goop works to release the stain from the fabric while, 'scratching' it will help pull it away from the fabric. Simply wash the blue jeans as your normally would and you will be stain free!
Good Store Bought Products
While not all store bought products are tough enough to treat grass stains, there are a few that will do the job. Spray and Wash, Shout Stick, Oxi Clean, and Borax are really good at treating grass stains in blue jeans. Simply apply the product directly to the stain. Rub it in and saturate thoroughly. Then wash immediately.
One thing to remember when treating grass stains is to always wash immediately after treating. Allowing it to dry can sometimes aid the stain. After washing the blue jeans check to insure that the stain was fully removed. If it has not fully been removed treat the stain again. Never wash and dry a grass stain that has not been treated or else you will end up with that grass stain forever.
