How to Remove Internet Antivirus 2010

Seth Luke
Internet Antivirus 2010 is a rogue antivirus. A "rogue antivirus" is an application on your computer which pretends to be an antivirus, but is really a fake antivirus that wants you to spend your money on their fake product. It will pretend to scan your computer and it will show false threats, so it looks like your computer is infected with a virus, but the only real virus on your computer is the antivirus itself.

I help my friends and family with computer viruses and the most popular question I get is "How did I get infected?". There is a number of ways to get infected. Sometimes, when you search something on Google and you click a result, it will redirect you to a website that automatically download and installs a rogue antivirus on your computer. It usually comes up with a pop-up saying "Your computer may be infected with viruses! Please download Internet Antivirus 2010 to remove them!!". There will be two options you can click on, "OK" and "Cancel". It doesn't matter which one you click, as they both will bring you to the website that installs the rogue antivirus on your computer. You will usually see these pop ups when you are trying to watch a full movie online (which is illegal by the way) or when you are viewing adult entertainment.

It's not that easy to remove this rogue antivirus, so you have to follow these steps as exactly as I say them in the correct order.

1. Go to This Website and download/install combo fix.
2. Close everything that is running on your computer, including this window.
3. Open up Task Manger (ctrl+alt+del) and end the task "internetantivirus2010"
4. Let Combo Fix scan your computer.
5. After Combo Fix is done, restart your computer. We are almost done.
6. Download and install "Malware Bytes Anti-Malware" from malwarebytes.org
7. Perform a quick scan
8. Restart your computer

Now Internet Antivirus 2010 is removed from your computer! To prevent future infections, download the Internet Explorer and Firefox add-on MyWot from mywot.com. MyWot will tell you if a website is dangerous or not.
