If you have accidentally glued your fingers together, or even if you have just accidentally glued something to your countertop the good news is that while Krazy glue is one of the strongest adhesives on the market it does have one weakness. Actually it has two weaknesses however you are likely to only have one around your house.
The best thing to use on anything accidentally stuck together with Krazy glue or superglue is Acetone, which is the only known thinner for the active ingredients in Krazy glue which is cyanoacrylics. Acetone is a common product available at all paintings stores, as its primary usage is that of a paint thinner. And while this may be great news, it is probably the last thing you want to hear if you have glued your hand to the table and are unable to get out to the hardware store to pick up acetone.
So what is a person to do that doesn't have a bottle of Acetone laying around the house and you have recently had a superglue accident? Simply reach for the nail polish remover of course. Nail polish remover contains high levels of acetone set into a gel like substance, which makes it perfect for removing any accidental superglue or Krazy glue spills.
In the case where are you have spilled extra superglue on to a table, simply poor a healthy amount of nail polish remover on top of the glue and give it is about 10 to 15 minutes to break down the glues cyanoacrylics then simply use a slightly moist rag and wipe away the spilled crazy glue.
If however you have actually glued yourself to something or someone then simply pour some nail polish remover over the glued piece of skin and give it a few seconds to work itself in. DO NOT pull hard, you will want to work your skin back and forth allowing the nail polish remover to work into the crazy glue, it will release once it works in so do not panic.
Once you have freed yourself from being accidentally super glued put a little more nail polish remover over the entire area and wait about 5 minutes and then wash the whole area using a mild soap and warm water. This will make sure that all remaining glue is removed. Your skin may be red from the irritation which is normal however if your skin remains red for more then a day or if blisters start to form then you may want to seek medical attention.
One final note, if you have superglued your lips or part of your lips together then you will probably not want to use nail polish remover, in this case your best option is to get to the emergency room immediately so that a trained professional can attend to you as the skin around your lips is very sensative and will react much more to the nail polish or acetone.
