Painful and Not so Painful Ways to Remove Lip Hair

Bev Cohen
Lip hair is something women definitely don't want. Unfortunately, as we grow older, sometimes we grow more hair on our faces which includes lip hair. Sometimes women with dark skin have a problem with dark lip hair. There are ways to remove this unwanted nuisance. They range from not too painful to painful. And the prices also range from not too painful to painful. Following are some ideas on how you can remove unwanted lip hair.

Shaving

Shaving is certainly the quickest and least expensive method of lip hair removal. Just smooth some shaving gel onto the upper lip and use a sharp razor to shave off the hair. The drawback to this is two-fold. One is that the hair on your lip will probably grow back thicker than ever and you'll have to keep shaving it. Also, you may feel some stubble there as it grows back, depending on how course your hair is.

Threading

This method is becoming more popular as witnessed by the amount of hair salons now offering this service. A wound thread is pulled along the hairs, removing them from the skin. The process is quick and the results last for 2-3 weeks. The good news is that no chemicals touch your skin when this method is used. The bad new is that it's just one more thing that women have to make time for and pay money for on a routine basis.

Waxing

Waxing is a popular method of upper lip hair removal. It can be done at home or at a salon. Melted wax is applied to the upper lip. A strip of cloth is laid on the wax and pressed down onto it. After a few seconds, the cloth is ripped off, taking the unwanted lip hair with it. This process if effective, but it takes some effort not to scream during the "hair ripping off" process.

Hair Removal Creams

There are quite a few facial hair removal creams on the market. You simply rub the cream on the upper lip and let it sit for the amount of time recommended by the product, usually around 10-15 minutes. Then you wipe it away with a warm, damp cloth. It's relatively pain free. The smell of these hair removal creams is usually not pleasant, but that is a small price to pay for getting the job done pain free.

Great ideas! I find waxing the easiest, and the good thing is that you get used to it after a while :) Nice article!
