How to Remove Salt Stains from Wearing UGG Boots in the Snow

In many states right now everyone seems to be getting bombarded with lots of snow. So when you go outside in this fluffy white stuff, what do you wear? A majority of people wear UGG boots, EMU, or Bear Paws. Why? One they are extremely warm, two very fashionable to many, and three lasts pretty good for the money. However, can you or should you wear UGG boots or any other brand mentioned above in snow, sleet, or rain?

Absolutely not, but we still do it anyway. The worst part about wearing the boots in the snow is actually the salt stains. The salt can change the color of the boot, and in some cases maybe even change the texture slightly. I have the perfect solution to help you remove any salt stain on your boot and that's using Stain Eliminator for cats.

That's right you heard me right. It just happened the other day when my poor baby cat had a pee pee accident for the first time in years. He ended up going on my carpet downstairs in the laundry room, because I was cleaning out his litter and well apparently he had to go so bad he just let loose. Was I mad? Of course not he's my precious cat and we all have mistakes from time to time.

So I used the Fresh N Clean Oxy Cat Odor/Stain Eliminator. I'm not sure which of the ingredients actually removed the stain immediately. It could have been the hydrogen peroxide, sodium lauryl sulfide, or ethanol denatured or for that matter the fragrance in it. All I care about was the stain was gone with no trace of it what so ever.

This product had me thinking. I thought what other stains would come out using this? After this incident happened I had to take my dog out. So I threw my UGG boots on like I usually do. While the dog was searching for a spot I was staring at my boots and thought "Man these boots have a lot of salt stains on them from all those darn snow storms." Since my mind was still fresh about the cat stain on the carpet it hit me. Why don't I try this on my boots?" It can't really hurt them in any way expect maybe make them a little bit lighter. I'm always thinking out of the box. Here's how I did it.

You will need one bottle of Fresh N Clean Oxy Cat Odor/Stain Eliminator

Old toothbrush

Plastic gloves (protect hands from spray)

Paper towel

Start out by scrubbing the stain using the toothbrush. Use some elbow grease don't be afraid to scrub.

Spray a decent amount of the stain eliminator onto the boot, but make sure NOT to over saturate the spot.

Take that same old toothbrush from step one and scrub. Then spray the area again, blot with a paper towel. Allow them to air dry. You now have almost a new pair of UGG boots. If the solution faded your boots out too much you can dye them, which I will be discussing in one of my next articles published.
