Microfiber material is soft, appealing and very easy to clean. Unlike cotton and other absorbent fabrics, stains are very easy to remove. Even old spills can be absorbed in just a few simple steps. Discover how to remove stains from microfiber cushions, and restore an otherwise dirty sofa, loveseat or chair. Furniture is too expensive to simply cover up, ignore or toss away at the curb.

Remove Stains on Microfiber with this Easy Baking Soda Trick

Baking soda is a miracle product, and it is cheap. It works incredibly well to remove spills and organic messes on microfiber cushions and more. Begin by wetting the stains on the cushions with clear water and a clean rag. The cushions must be wet but not completely saturated down to the cushioning.

Next, generously sprinkle baking soda over the marks. You cannot use too much. The thicker, the better. It will need to remain on the cushions and undisturbed for at least forty-eight hours. It will work to pull the moisture and the stains out of the fabric. When the baking soda dries it will be ready to vacuum away along with the stains and any accompanying odors.

Try an Enzyme Pet Stain Remover if Baking Soda Does Not Work

Some spills are too tough for baking soda, especially if they are old and set-in. When baking soda does not work to remove stains from microfiber cushions, try an enzyme pet stain remover. If it does not remove the stains, absolutely nothing will. The enzymes will break down the stains on microfiber cushions, destroy bacteria and make them easier to remove.

Visit a local pet store, or shop online for enzyme pet stain remover. Forget about the cleaning aisle of a local discount stores. Ordinary upholstery cleaners for microfiber cushions only work if the fabric is clean to begin with. They will also add fragrance to the fabric, but without removing the bad odor that accompanies the stains.

If a cleaner smells like lemons, the cushions will smell like lemons and the source of the stains. This could result in the microfiber cushions smelling like rotting citrus fruit. Enzyme cleaners made for pet use will remove just about anything organic and the resulting odors.
