How to Remove Start-up Programs to Make Your Computer Faster by Using Less Memory

C. O.
This is a really good method of how to increase your computer's start up speed by removing programs that you might not be aware that are running. These types of files can be inserted into your system start up just by installing programs. Most of these files can be deleted as they are only updates for a program or software, but in some causes some files are needed. An example is a file that controls your mouse and keyboard so if you disable is file your mouse and keyboard will lose it's functionality making it impossible to use your computer. By removing some of these useless files such as updates and such you can allow your processor and ram to use less energy and memory.

This in turn makes your system faster as your processor and ram memory can bypass those files you disabled and go to other files and services that your system ready needs in order to start up. Just like disabling the background services you will have to use google to see if your computer needs these programs or not. Before we get started create a system restore point just in case you need to go back to the default settings and proceed to step one.

1.)Click on start then click on run

2.)In the run box type in msconfig and click ok

3.)A new window called system configuration utility will appear and towards the top of this window click on the startup tab

4.)Now go to www.google.com and one by one type in the names of the startup programs and see what program uses them and check if their safe to remove and if they are uncheck the box

5.)After you have unchecked all programs you want to disable click on apply then ok and reboot your computer for the changes to take effect

When searching on google for your startup items put a .exe at the end of it's name for a better search. The .exe means executable which is a type of file used for installing or starting up a program or service. If your unsure if a program is safe to remove or not your better off just leaving it alone. It's better to have a computer that works with a little less speed then one that is a little bit faster that doesn't work.
