Brad Kamer
A vehicle that is tainted by odor can make life miserable for the owner and the rest of the passengers. Some bad aroma culprits can be offensive smelling food or tobacco smoke or even a passenger that comes in tow with bad body odor. As bad as those offenses are to the olfactory sense, there is nothing worse than the smell of vomit within a vehicle. Cleaning vomit out of the automobiles upholstery in one thing; removing the smell of vomit from a vehicle is the biggest challenge. Before going out to the stores to buy Fabreeze, Carpet fresh or any other synthetic chemical cleanser and fragrance, consider accomplishing this task using some easy to find products that can be located within the comforts of your home. Getting the vehicle to smell good again can be achieved if one follows these natural and easy to follow tips.

Baking Soda

The power of baking soda in a kitchen and household is immense. The open box of baking soda works well to remove funky odors in the refrigerator. The same concept can be applied with an automobile. After thorough cleaning of vomit from vehicle, take a box or two of baking soda and sprinkle the powder on the vehicle carpet and any other tainted areas. Leave the other box open and set in car overnight. The next day vacuum and wipe up the powder. The odor should be gone. If there is still a persist smell of vomit, then consider the next phase of odor cleansing, vinegar

Vinegar

We all know vinegar packs a very big punch with odor. The good thing about vinegar's strong aroma is its ability to absorb and overpower other odors that are more offensive. To combat the nauseating smell left in the vehicle, place a bowl of white or cider vinegar in a car and close doors and windows and leave overnight in vehicle. The next morning should yield better results, with the car smelling only of vinegar. The vinegar smell will quickly go away with cracking all the windows for a day. If the overnight trick does not entirely remove vomit smell, repeat process again a second night in a row.

Coffee

If you do not possess baking soda or vinegar, consider taking a generous amount of wet or used coffee grounds and placing them on a large plate and place plate on floor of vehicle overnight. The coffee grounds have a way of trapping the odor of the vomit and leaving your car smelling more like java. Coffee grinds also work wonders on refrigerators and freezers that have been overpowered by seafood odors.

Charcoal

For those that have grills using charcoal briquettes, consider this cooking fuel source a great way to combat the smelly vehicle. Place a small open ended paper bag of charcoal in the vehicle with the doors and windows closed. The charcoal will do an amazing job of trapping in all the offensive odors.

These are all natural and effective ways to remove the smell of vomit from the car. Once the soiled area has received a good scrub down with hot soapy water, using one of these methods or a combination of them all should prove successful in getting the vehicle back to an odor free state.
