There are chances that you will decide to renovate it green and end up 'greening up' you home. This is especially popular these days as the environment is in constant need of the green and above that, it looks good. The foremost thing that you will need before starting the renovation is the tools and supplies. Always prefer your local stores to buy these tools and the other supplies that you will need during the renovation process. This way you will contribute to the community and you will also save a lot of fuel. The rates for such tools are almost same every where.

You should prefer repairing and repainting to purchasing the new items. If some thing is repairable, then go for repairing and avoid excessive buying. This can help to reduce budget and save some money that can be then invested on other important renovation purchases.

Always buy energy efficient items and the items that are easy to recycle. Avoid the items that can not be recycles at all. Remember that this is an important part of green revolution that you are aiming at inside your home. Also get the recyclable paint that is commonly available, and purchase items that have low Volatile Organic Compounds.

Flooring is another important aspect of the 'greening up' your home campaign. Look for the bamboo etc flooring that is sustainable, if you have to change the flooring. But remember that every home is not suitable for all the floor types and you need to choose the type of floor carefully.While cleaning, you can look for the 'green' cleaning supplies. They are good as they leave pleasant smell that often relates to some fruit etc. The other things that you must also do include sustainable fencing around the home and arrangement for more and more light. You can do so by using solar window panels that are strategically placed and hence will allow a maximum amount of light to enter your home. Remember that sunlight is a very important natural resource for our good health. While installing the artificial lights, look for the more energy efficient ones and do the maximum energy saving in your home.
