How to Rent a Limo for Your Wedding

What to use the limo for

Many couples use limos as a great-looking means of transportation they can use to hop into after their ceremony. They usually will go for a brief ride around town, maybe see a few sights, and then head back to the location of their ceremony for pictures after the guests have left. Usually couples will then use the limos to take the bride, groom, and part or all of the wedding part to the reception.

Some couples who want extended uses for their limo also use a limo to take them to their hotel after the reception, to take them to particular locations they'd like to visit on their wedding day that are dear to them, or as a means to celebrate with a champagne toast inside the limo.

How to budget for a limo

Your budget for your limo depends on how long you'd like to have the limo service at your disposal on your big day. Most limo rental companies have a three-hour minimum which runs anywhere from $200 to $400. This will cover your wedding, if you want the limo to take you from the location of your ceremony to your reception and photographs in between.

If you want your limo to hang out until after your reception, you will need to budget a bit more money, of course. Typically a limo company will add hours past the initial three-hour minimum at a rate of $50 to $100 an hour.

Types of limos

In this, the 21st Century, there are any of a number of different styles of limousines available to newlyweds.

The newest types of stretch limos come in the forms of the Hummer and the new BMW X5. These new types of limousine can add a high level of class to your wedding day. Limos are also known to come in the forms of Volkswagon Beetles and Ford Explorers.

In addition, there are many other types of limos available. They come in many makes and models and different colors. The traditional stretch limo is in the form of a Lincoln Town Car. The newer model Lincolns have a more rounded look to them, while the older Lincolns are more square. Limos can come in any color imaginable, but the traditional colors for weddings are black, white, and silver.
