If you've jumped the gun by cutting your batch of perfect brownies while they were still warm, or mangled them with a serrated steak knife instead using a sharp edged kitchen knife, here are some quite fixes:
Turn them into mini bites. Bite sized brownies are fun to eat, and a great way of turning a 12 serving recipe into a treat for 48 people. To save my daughter's ruined batch of perfect brownies last night, we let the batch cool completely before re-slicing the pieces into 1 inch squares.
From there, I dipped the brownie tips first into melted chocolate (made by melting chocolate chips in the microwave) and then again into crushed almonds.
Other ideas that will also work
--instead of a crushed almond topping, press a walnut half, whole almond or peanut, or M&Ms into the melted chocolate
--decorate with homemade powdered sugar frosting, piped through a star decorating tool (here's an easy recipe)
--attach a fresh raspberry to the top of each brownie mini with a whip of icing
Make a brownie sundae. If that tray of ruined brownies were supposed to be dessert for tonight's party, a brownie sundae is another quick fix.
To make a brownie sundae:
1. Drop several 1/2-inch cubed brownie bites into an old fashioned glass or desert bowl.
2. Add a scoop of softened ice cream, drizzle with melted chocolate
3. Top with whipped cream, and sprinkle with crushed walnuts or peanuts.
Brownie Ice Cream cone. For a kids party, drop the brownie bites into an ice cream cone and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Skewered A unique way of salvaging those ruined brownies is by skewering three or four cubed brownie bites onto the end of a wooden stick. The brownies can be served plain or using one of the following ideas:
--dipping the skewered brownies into melted chocolate, and then let harden before serving
--Alternating cubed brownies with fresh raspberries or strawberries.
