Things you will need
Knife
Lighter
Sandpaper #60 or #80
Glue
High quality nylon thread (whatever color you want to use)
Scissors
Small paint brush
Varnish
Step 1
Remove all the old eyelets by unthreading them from the pole.
Step 2
Scrape any excess thread from the pole with a knife. Scrape the pole gently, though, just enough to remove the thread, but not hard enough to damage your pole.
Step 3
Heat the tip of the pole with a lighter to soften the glue so that you can remove it.
Step 4
Start at the top eyelet, and sand off all the old glue and varnish around each old eyelet until they are all smooth.
Step 5
Use the glue to replace the rod tip, making sure it is straight.
Step 6
Start wrapping the new eyelets onto your pole with high quality cotton thread, making sure you pull each wrap snug. It is important to use a high quality thread nylon thread to prevent the thread from breaking. Cut any excess thread with a pair of scissors.
Step 7
Use a small paintbrush to apply a coat of varnish on each eyelet as you finish wrapping. The varnish keeps the thread from unraveling. Coat each eyelet with at least 3 coats of varnish. Allow them to dry for at least 24 hours before you use the pole.
