Things You'll Need
Replacement halogen light bulb with a prong base
Step 1
Turn off the power source to the halogen bulb, and ensure that the old bulb is cooled completely before attempting to replace it.
Step 2
Remove the covering to the light fixture and unscrew the old bulb from the light socket by turning it counterclockwise and pulling it out from the fixture.
Step 3
Position the replacement halogen bulb over the socket with the prong base lined up to fit within the light socket.
Step 4
Push the bulb into the socket and turn it clockwise to secure the prongs of the halogen bulb into the light socket.
Step 5
Replace the covering to the bulb and turn on the power source to insure the replacement bulb works.
Tips
Grasp the halogen bulbs with a cloth if you wish to prevent them from slipping from your grasp.
Warnings
Beware of attempting to remove change the halogen bulb when the power source is turned on for you could possibly electrocute yourself.
