How to Reset Motorola V3 Razr's Lifetime Call Time

Chris Jones
This guide will teach you how to reset the lifetime call time on the Motorola V3 Razr. This is the last listing on the Razr's call time menu. You can reset the other values, such as "All Calls" or "Dialed Calls and Received Call" times via a Master Reset located at the Initial Setup menu. However, a master reset will not reset the lifetime call timer.

The advantages of resetting the lifetime call times are quite obvious. You want to reset the lifetime call time and this will allow you to do so without needing to flash a monsterpack (mp). By doing so, you will essentially raise the value of your phone but also make it easier to return or obtain a warranty coverage.

There are basically two ways of doing this. The first method involves a nifty program/software called Smartmoto. It will allow you to reset the lifetime call time as well as perform a master clear and master reset without touching a single button on the phone. This program is located all over the web. Just use a google search. Here is a good place to start though, http://www.smart-clip.com/smartmoto.php. After you have installed the program, simply choose to use the usb connection settings and search for the phone. After the phone is connected, you can navigate to the Service tab and simply run the reset lifetime call time.

Another method of this same task is by using Opcodes, or operation codes that modify your cell phone. It is basically seem editing via your physical phone, which can be beneficial since it does not require all the fancy software and usb cables. You simply need to do the following.

Press menu then 048263* (This will lead you to the opcode menu)

Opcode 47 ok

Field 1--619 ok

Field 2--1 ok

Field 3-- 0 ok

Field 4--4 ok

Field 5--000000000000 ok

Restart your phone

If the opcode menu does not initiate for you, then you must enable the opcode feature. This is because it was probably not turned on in your phone yet. You will need to do a little bit of seem editing, but there are numerous guides online such as this one: http://yuetblog.blogspot.com/2007/04/bit-manipulation-using-opcodes.html. That website will be much more helpful than I could ever be with the opcode bit manipulation. I will simply point you in the correct direction so that you can figure out how to reset the lifetime call time.
