If you removed a file unintentionally, this article will show you the way to recover your deleted file. At first, you need a software to help you restoring your file. There are many software that supports recovering file. However, I recommend you "Smart Recovery" because it is free and very easy to use.
You can download this "Smart Recovery". It is only about 6MB. "Smart Recovery" can restore up to 22 file types. When you delete or even format your hard drive, memory card..., it will recover all the files completely.
The appearance of "Smart Recovery" is very professional for users of digital camera, pocket PC... This program can recover jpeg, amr, tif, gif, Canon .crw, Fuji .raf, RICOH .raw, Olympus .orf (E-XX), Olympus .orf (C5050), Nokia 3gp, Kodak .dcr, Minolta .mrw, Nikon .nef (D1H/D1X), Nikon .nef (D2H/D2X), Nikon .nef (E5000/E5700), Sigma - Foveon .x3f, mp4, QuickTime .mov (Konica Minolta). File type ended with avi, wav and dss can also be restored easily.
After installing "Smart Recovery", you can activate and use it immediately. You have to choose the hard drive or memory card you want to recover. This program will check and report the status (ready or busy) of your hard drive or memory card automatically. The next step is to choose the file type you want to recover your files as. Finally, you have to choose where you want to save the file in your computer. Click "Start" to begin recovering process.
There are somethings you should notify about "Smart Recovery":
1. Your recovered file will be save in your hard drive, not directly to your memory card or USB devices.
2. Recovered file will be named convar1, convar 2, convar 3...
3. You should go to File> Settings and choose Intensive Mode. This will lower the recovering process. However, you can keep the quality of your file. (The default is fast mode).
4. This software cannot recover your file if your hard drive is damaged or overwritten. Therefore, you'd better use it right after deleting your file.
I hope you will find my article useful to recover your file. I used this software many times. It works perfectly not only with image files but also movie files.
