According to familyhack.com you can easily retrieve it without calling a plumber. Calling a plumber can be very expensive and you will feel like an idiot if you later find out about this trick. Have you ever lost a ring or a shampoo lid down your sink drain?
I have found myself in this situation before and was disgusted when I had to pay the high price to a plumber to retrieve a shampoo lid from my bathtub. I am pretty sure that this trick would have worked in that situation too.
We all know someone who has lost a wedding ring or diamond engagement ring down their kitchen or bathroom sink drain. It is a really hopeless feeling when this happens. You know that your ring is caught in the elbow of your drain pipe or worse sinking to the bottom of your septic tank. You may be lucky and can retrieve it by taking your pipe apart. How much easier it would be to have known the familyhack guy's easy trick.
How to retrieve your wedding ring from your sink drain.
Family hack guy has a sense of humor. You will definitely want to see this video. Don't try to use a regular vacuum cleaner or you may shock or electrocute yourself. You only need a shopvac, and a pair of panty hose. He said to use your wife or girlfriend's pantyhose or if you are a transvestite you might want to use something in red.
Family hack guy's daughter dropped a lid down their bathroom sink drain. He does a demonstration on how to retrieve the lid from the drain. Take the pantyhose and place over the end of the shopvac wand. Place the wand over the sink drain hole and turn it on. Simplistic enough the ring magically appears on the end of the wand protected by the pantyhose. You don't have to search through your shopvac to retrieve your ring.
Run cold water through the drain afterwares so sewer gas doesn't come belching up through the drain after sucking your valuable object up. So simple and easy that you would think that you would have thought this trick up by yourself. Check out this web site for this and more valuable tricks.
You want to do this immediately otherwise your ring may get washed the rest of the way down the drain.

Post a CommentI'm afraid this will happen to me if I don't buy drain stoppers for the bathrooms. For some strange reason the landlord must not think they're necessary. I can imagine this happening, and if it ever does I'll consult your info. Thanks!
What great information to know. I know this will come in handy sometime. :-)
