How to Reverse Heart Disease

Laura Miller
Your heart is a pump that sends blood through your body and it is very important that your arteries are clear so your heart can work at top capacity. Although many people know how important heart health is they don't make the small changes that are necessary to avoid heart disease.

It's simple to understand. When your arteries are clear blood flow goes on without hindrance, but when your arteries are blocked that leads to heart disease, heart attacks and perhaps, even death. We keep hearing this all the time and yet many of us ignore the warnings until we do have a heart attack and often that is too late.

The good news is there is actually a way to reverse heart disease. How is this done? All you need to do is follow a heart healthy diet and eliminate saturated fats and cholesterol. If you do this and you will be on your way to reversing heart disease. It's easy to find a low fat diet you can follow because of all the information available on diets. There is no reason to continue to eat in a way that is dangerous for your heart. The problem is that no one can force you to eat healthily aside from forcing you to do so by locking you in a place similar to rehab. Of course, this is something that would never happen, so it's up to you to do what's right for your health and well being because with exercise, your heart will start to work more efficiently. This doesn't mean you need to buy a lot of exercise equipment or hire a trainer, all it takes it making a few simple changes in your every day life. Instead of taking a bus, walk if your destination is within walking distance, or just walk around your neighborhood every day.

For most people the final resort for reversing heart disease is surgery. The prospect of undergoing major surgery should motivate most people into eating healthy and exercising. It's a lot easier to give up a high fat diet and take a walk around your neighborhood every evening after dinner, then it is to have a doctor cut open chest and try to repair your heart. While it may be comforting to know that surgery can be effective, it's only used in severe cases and if you do have surgery and don't follow the doctor's suggestion to eat better and exercise you might find yourself undergoing more surgery. If you don't the price you pay might be your life.

Challenge yourself to become stronger and reverse the onset of heart disease. Follow a healthy diet and exercise regularly and perhaps you'll motivate your friends and family to do the same.
