How to Get Rich

Getting rich is not something that will happen overnight for you. If you see an ad to "get rich quick," you can bet it is a scheme and someone is trying to get your money for nothing in return. Getting rich; however, can happen over a period of time. You can greatly increase your income and become financially free in a matter of time. For some it may take more time than for others; however, we all have the capability to get rich.

BUDGET FINANCES: One of the first things you need to do to start building your wealth is to budget your finances. You simply cannot be spending more than you are making and plan on getting rich this way. You need to sit down and figure out your monthly income, then figure out what your monthly bills are. If your bills are already higher than your income, then you need to figure out some way to cut spending immediately. Do you have a newer car? You may need to sell it and buy and older vehicle to cut your monthly car payment down. Do you have extra clothes that you do not wear? Then you probably need to stop buying new clothes. Do you throw away extra food that doesn't get eaten and goes to waste? Then you need to stop buying so many groceries and write out a plan. Reduce, reuse, and recycle everything from clothes to food. Get creative in coming up with ways to cut back on your monthly bills.

CUT UP CREDIT CARDS: Do you have credit cards that you use. You need to cut them up and throw them away or shred them immediately. Do not use a credit card again. If you can keep yourself from using it, you may keep one credit card in your purse for emergencies, but that is ALL the credit card may be used for. Remember that needing to get your nails done for you sister-in-laws welcome home party is not an emergency. You simply have to draw the line and cut yourself off from credit cards. Go cold turkey and don't look back. Then once the cards are gone, get the bills paid off as soon as possible. Pay the minimum amount on them every month and pay extra every month that you can. Do not let the payments go for one month without making the minimum payment on them at least.

GO BACK TO SCHOOL: If you have decided that it is your income that needs raise you could ask for a raise at work and see what you can get. Then if you get nothing or decide the raise is not enough, you may need to consider going back to school. If you go back to school, do your research first. Pick a career change that will offer plenty of job opening in the field when you graduate. You can look at the occupational outlook handbook to see the job perspective of particular job fields. The more jobs that the field has to offer the better off you are going to school for that field. Also, look at the salary range of the job in the occupational outlook handbook, will you be able to make a significant amount of money in the field to pay for the cost of going back to school and still make more money than you are currently making? Take all of these things in to consideration to get rich.
