How Do You Get Rid of Cockroaches
Sanitation, Trapping, Baits, Insecticides, Dusts and Exterminator's Are the Best Way to Kill or Get Rid of Roaches
If you spot one cockroach in your home chances are there will be many more to follow very soon. One female cockroach will carry one egg capsule containing forty eggs. Before you know it cockroaches will overrun your home.
Cockroaches like warm moist environments. Cockroaches spend time hiding in dark places during daylight hours. Cockroaches hide behind pictures, refrigerators, stoves, backs of cabinets and crevices. Cockroaches will hide behind anything that is dark including electronic equipment.
Food sources for cockroaches include sweets, meat and grease products and starches. Other food sources cockroaches like are cheese, beer, decaying organic matter, glue, book bindings and flakes of dried skin.
How to Get Rid Of Cockroaches
1- Sanitation
. Don't let dishes pile up in the kitchen sink. Wash dishes after every meal.
. Place left over food in refrigerator with lids.
. Keep pet food tightly sealed and in containers. Never leave pet food in a pets bowl overnight.
. Empty trashcans regularly.
. Check and clean evaporation pan on refrigerators and freezers.
. Clean up grease between stove and cabinet by pulling the stove out.
2- Trapping
. Cockroach traps are a great way to trap and remove roaches from your open. Cockroach traps generally open on both ends and have glue on the floor of the trap that roaches can't crawl off. Place the trap in places you know cockroaches travel. Kitchen, bathroom and cabinets are the places roaches frequently travel.
3- Baits
. Baits that contain liquid will attract roaches and when they drink it, they will carry it back to the nest. By doing this they will kill the babies and other roaches in that area. Combat is one of the best you can buy to eliminate roaches.
4- Insecticides
. Insecticides applied under refrigerators, stoves, sinks, cabinets and other areas they frequently travel will give the best control. Before applying insecticides in cabinets remove dishes and return dishes after the insecticide has dried.
5- Dusts
. Dusts give better control but are harder to use. Boric acid applied around cracks and crevices, under refrigerators and stoves and backs of cabinets will help kill cockroaches. Always apply a thin line never apply in a pile or thick coatings.
6- Exterminator
An exterminator is your best resource for killing cockroaches. If your home shows signs of many cockroaches, you best bet will be to hire an exterminator to come in and spray your home to kill cockroaches.
