Before bedtime- If you read this knowing your going to have a hangover then their is still hope. There are a few things you can do before going to bed to try and prevent your hangover. Take a multi vitamin before bedtime with a large glass of water. This will help replace some of the vitamins you lost during your drinking and will help hydrate you while you sleep it off. If you like drinks like Gatorade then drink some of this before bed. The main reason for a hangover is the loss of water in your body. These drinks are suppose to replenish your body.
Rehydrate- One of the main reasons people get hangovers is because while your drinking all that alcohol your dehydration. I know that is hard to believe since you have this hangover from all them fluids the night before. What people tend to forget is alcohol is not a fluid that will hydrate you. It causes you to lose all your water in your body. Just think of how many times you used the bathroom last night while you were drinking and you may understand a little bit better. Drink as much water as you think you can hold down. If you can handle drinking warm water then this is a better option for you. If cold is all you can do, then its better then nothing. If your feeling queasy at all, then this is going to be a hard task.
Eating- Along with losing water, while your drinking your body loses a lot of salt and potassium. You will need to get this back into your body so you can begin to feel better. Try eating some chicken soup if you can take it. If your still to queasy for that then munch on some crackers until you feel a bit better. Bananas also contain a lot of potassium. I was never able to do the banana thing during a hangover though. Something about that fruit just didn't sit well with my belly after drinking. Fruit juice is another good thing to drink because it contains sugar fructose and that will speed up the metabolism of alcohol.
Get up- Probably the last thing you wanted to hear. You don't feel like moving let alone getting up. The faster you can get up and get moving the better you will feel. It might feel so good at first but it will in time. If you can go for a short walk or jog. Anything that gets you up and moving so your blood will flow better. This will make you feel a ton better. Once you do all these things you should start feeling better in no time.
