You will not be able to get rid of the lice quickly. More than likely, you are in for the long haul. This is something you must understand and ultimately be prepared for. You can usually take care of the mature lice, but it is the lice eggs that often cause the worst problems for folks. Even though it may look like you have gotten rid of the lice does not mean you are free. There are often eggs that are waiting to hatch and cause you some torment.

The first and most important thing to do is to go and purchase a nice comb and some conditioner for your game. Take yourself to the room of your home that has the brightest light. If you do these two things, you stand a chance. Typically, it is very difficult to get rid of the lice without the good nit comb. After you have these things, you are ready to get to battle against the lice.

First of all, you want to take care of those living lice that you can see. These are the adult lice that you know so well. They are small and white. The older lice are the ones that have the pinchers that appear to look like small crabs. The younger lice are smaller, speck-like organisms that attach themselves to the hair. You want to go ahead and attack these by putting conditioner on your hair. This acts as a sort of primer to get the hair ready to work with. This will make sure that the hair allows the live to be removed from the hair with a certain amount of ease.

The fight against lice does not stop there, though. In order to really get rid of lice, you have to clean all of the things that an afflicted person has come into contact with. These things might be contaminated with lice of their own and can start a second outbreak. Wash the clothes, the bedding, and other fabrics where lice might like to hide.

Like with washing your hair, it is important to repeat this process. Generally, waiting a couple of days and then washing the hair again is something that will allow you to be sure that you eliminate all of the lice. Sometimes you will notice that the lice have resurfaced. In this instance, they are probably in fewer numbers, though.
