How to Get Rid of Liver Spots and Fight the Signs of Aging

If you have ever looked at your hands or forearms and noticed those pesky little white or brown spots known as Liver Spots then you know how embarrassing they can be. If you would like to get rid of Liver Spots then follow some of these tips and watch your skin peel back years.

Get Rid of Liver Spots Step 1
Prevention. Prevention is the best way to protect your skin from showing signs of aging. The best way to protect your skin is to stay out of the sun. Liver Spots are often the result of exposure to the sun. If you can't stay out of the sun, then wear long sleeves, or a good sunscreen.

Alpha Hydroxy Acid. Alpha Hydroxy Acids are the newest products on the market for helping to control liver spots. Alpha Hydroxy Acids are derived from fruits and dairy products and are applied directly to the problem areas of the skin. Alpha Hydroxy Acids work by disintegrating the old skin that has yet to be sloughed off in the natural aging process. Alpha Hydroxy Acids have also proven to be helpful in fighting wrinkles, and other skin abnormalities.

Retinoids. Retinoids are a synthetic version of Vitamin A. Vitamin A has been found to be essential in helping regulate the aging process of our skin. High doses of Vitamin A applied topically force the old skin cells to dry up and fall off which encourages new growth by the underlying skin.

Microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is a process by which a small comb or brush with very fine metal bristles are used to scrub over problem skin areas. While scrubbing over these problem areas the old dead skin is removed allowing the fresh new skin underneath to show.

Chemical Peels. Chemical Peels are a sure fire way to get rid of Liver Spots and are performed by a doctor or dermatologist. Chemical Peels work to radically remove the dead dry skin that for liver spots using a chemical process. This process can be harsh to the skin and is a process that should not be repeated often due to the course treatment of the skin.

The battle to get rid of liver spots has been waged for many years. If you are really concerned with abnormal skin spots you need to consult a dermatologist and follow their advice for treatment.
