This is not so with other programs such as Skype. Now, do not get me wrong, I am a true lover of Skype. I live overseas and without Skype, well I just could not imagine it. So when Skype enticed me a few months ago with a newer version I was intrigued. All the other times I have updated Skype everything was fine so I accepted that as the precedent. I was so wrong...the new Skype is now my nemesis. I really need to get rid of the new Skype.
I need to get rid of the new Skype because it is no longer one touch dialing. The old Skype allowed you to click on the name in the contact list and then like magic the phone was dialing. Now with the new Skype calling someone from your contact list is a process that is no longer instant. Is that better? I don't think so.
I need to get rid of the new Skype because with the new and not improved Skype the numbers on my keyboard no longer function. How is that a good idea? With the old Skype everything is automatic and with the new Skype nothing seems to be. How exactly is that an upgrade?
So I went online and apparently I am not the only person who wants to get rid of the new Skype. There are loads of people like me and you who want to get rid of the new Skype and return blissfully to the old Skype.
Fortunately this is an easy and quick process. Here is the website you need: http://www.oldapps.com/skype.htm. On this website you can choose from old Skype versions that date back to 2005. I picked the version from November, 2008 and that worked for me. Simply execute the download by clicking the date you want to revert to. It will ask you in a pop up window if you are sure you want to get rid of your new version of Skype and replace it with the old one and of course click YES. I did it and I feel much better now. Go ahead, get rid of the new Skype now!

Post a CommentBig help, thanks!
I completely agree that the new skype sucks big time. Who design the interface? it's counterintuitive and a very bad experience for the user. I'm really surprised. Thanks for the link.
I came here to check which version you picked. Thank you! The new Skype sucks!
