Feel Better Soon with These Tips

Stomach bugs are awful- one minute you're fine, the next you are writhing on the ground and your whole middle section feels like it's turning inside out. A whole slew of unpleasant ailments can come out of having a stomach sickness, and you will could be ill for as little as a day and as much as a week. There are some surprising and little-known ways to lessen the effects of your stomach bug and even cure it completely. Here they are:

-Stay Hydrated with Smart Water

You have most likely heard that drinking water is great for your health, but it is especially difficult to stay hydrated when you are sick. Think about it- when you're throwing up and doing all sorts of other lovely things associated with being sick, you are constantly losing water. So drink lots of H2O, and even better, drink a brand of water infused with electrolytes, such as Smart Water or even the fruit juice Gatorade.

-Stretch

Stretching can often relieve stomach cramping and pain when you have a stomach bug. Stretch for a few minutes at a time, and don't do anything too strenuous. It'll hurt when you're stretching, but moving around will help you to feel better in the long run.

-Let Yourself Be Sick

It might seem counter-intuitive to let yourself throw up-its gross, and many people are scared of doing it. But think- vomiting is your body's way of getting rid of the toxins in your system that are making you sick, whether the cause is bacteria, a virus, or a bad reaction to a certain food. By letting yourself throw up, you expel whatever is making you sick, and believe me, you will immediately feel better after vomiting.

-Go to Your Doctor After a Few Days If Symptoms Don't Clear Up

If you haven't improved in 2 or 3 days, call your doctor or get a friend/family member to take you to urgent care. Serious stomach bugs can be deadly, so get help if your condition doesn't improve after a few days.

For more detailed information, check out medical websites to find more ways to alleviate your stomach pain. However, please remember that no Google search is a substitute for seeing a real doctor, so use common sense when online and don't try to diagnose yourself.

Try these tips to beating your stomach bug, and remember to get medical attention if your condition doesn't improve. Feel better soon!
