How to Get Rid of Swollen Feet During Pregnancy

Swollen Feet Can Easily Be Taken Care Of

During pregnancy swollen feet can become annoying at times. They can hurt and feel as if your skin just cannot stretch anymore. Here are some great ways to relieve that pain of swollen feet during pregnancy.

One of the best ways to relieve swollen feet is to boil some parsley in a cup of water for about ten minutes. Once cooled, drink the mixture and relax. Parsley is a natural diuretic and will help ease the swelling within a couple of hours.

Heating pads can also help ease the pain of swollen feet during pregnancy. Sit back and place the heating pad on your feet for at least 30 minutes every chance you get. Put it on medium to high heat and sit back and relax.

Rub some mentholatum on the bottom of your feet and cover them with thick socks. Do this before you go to bed and you feet will feel better when you wake up.

Prop those feet up on a pillow. Make sure your feet are over your heart, meaning up high enough to relieve the pressure. Use two or three if you have to. Keep them up on the pillow for about 30 minutes, try and do this several times a day if needed.

Last, I would have to say this is my favorite. Get a large bucket of the hottest water you can stand. Pour one cup of epsom salt into the bucket and mix until it is completely dissolved. Place your feet inside the bucket of water and enjoy. Once the water has cooled down, empty out half and add more hot water. Keep feet in as long as you like.

If the swelling does not go down with any of these methods, I highly recommend that you visit you OBGYN or your doctor as soon as you can. Swollen feet can be very serious, if not treated immediately.

Excellent suggestions! There's nothing like swollen feet while pregnant. Ugh! The hot water and Epsom salt always helped me.
