How to Get Rid of Varmints in FrontierVille for Facebook

Brandon Miller
When playing FrontierVille for Facebook, you will likely find that the wilderness is a dangerous place. During the game you are sure to encounter dangerous animals. According to the FrontierVille help page, there are three types of animals in the game - rattlesnakes, bears, and groundhogs. However, I have only encountered the first two. While they can be a nuisance, they can also be a source of tons of energy, coins, and food. Here is how you get rid of any of the varmints that you might encounter in FrontierVille.

What happens when varmints appear?

Varmints usually appear after preforming an action in the game such as clearing brush or chopping down trees. When the varmint appears, you will notice that all of the surrounding items on the map glow red. The red are is - for lack of a better term - the "danger zone". Since the area immediately surrounding the animal is dangerous, all of the red items will require a greater amount of energy to perform an action on the item. For example, if the grass next to a rattlesnake is red, it will take more energy to clear the grass.

How to get rid of varmints in FrontierVille for Facebook?

Varmints in FrontierVille will not go away on their own. You will need to attack or scare them away. Rattlesnakes are the easiest to get rid of. You simply need to attack them three times. Bears can be harder or easier depending on where they are on the map. If they are near the middle of the map, you will need to scare them about seven times. However, since a bear moves every time that you scare them, you may be able to scare them off your land if they are close enough to the border. Once the bear has been scared off your property, he will immediately run away.

What is the benefit of riding your FrontierVille home of varmints?

In addition to saving energy from working in danger zones, you will also earn lots of coins, experience points, and food from each attack. This can add up quickly if you have to attack the animal multiple times.

Does anyone know how many times you need to feed a sheep to make it an adult? Or what monetary value a sheep must reach to be considered an adult? Thanks
