How to Run Your Business More Efficiently and Effectively - How to Have a Successful Business
8 Top Tips for Business Success
1. Keep and eye on your cash flow, keep your accounts in good working order and work out/stay on top of exactly what is going out and coming into your business.
2. Monitor your businesses performance on a weekly and monthly basis. This will help you spot and resolve and issues that may arise.
3. Keep all of your customers happy. No matter if they are new or existing, customer care is essential to running a successful business so keep your customers happy no matter how much they spend and you will be happy.
4. Stay motivated, passionate and focused. Staying on top of the game, and keeping your eye on the ball are essential to making a business successful.
5. Keep your staff and suppliers happy. Suppliers and staff are very
important to your business, keep them happy and they will be more productive and happy to work for you, meaning they will be more motivated to help you and your business achieve success.
6. Improve your profit margins. I am not talking about ripping people off here, but there are ways you can improve your profit margin without increasing retail prices or sales prices, for example you could negotiate cheaper production, cheaper packaging, cheaper overheads and so on that would reduce your costs and give you a healthy bottom line and more profit.
7. Seek new customers through networking. While keeping your existing customers happy there is nothing to stop you from actively finding and seeking out new customers. Use networking and existing clients to increase your number of customers. Offer referral fees and so on.
8. Keep on top of all your payments. Don't let anybody get away with not paying, no matter how small the amount. If someone/a business gets away without paying you will probably find yourself a target by similar people/businesses. So keep an eye of all incoming payments. If you have a non payment then chase up as necessary, for example raise an invoice, re-issue an invoice, send formal demands and any other route you wish to follow to get the money you are owed.
I hope you have found this article both helpful and useful. Remember there is no magic trick to making a business successful, it takes time, dedication among a number of other of factors. So stick with it, be prepared for the highs and lows, and the good and bad times.
