First, you need to measure the windshield of the RV and find a material to use on the windshield. You can use plastic, vinyl, or another fabric of your choice. In addition, you can visit the home store, automotive store or the craft store. The plastic material will probably be the cheapest of the fabrics. You will need some magnetic strips to adhere the fabric to the windshield.
There are couple ways to get the material to fit your windshield. You can measure the windshield with measuring tape and find the exact measurements. Also, you could place the fabric against the windshield and trim off any excess material. It's very important to have the exact measurements of the fabric so that the magnetic strips will be able to stick to the metal on the windshield.
The fabric needs to be cut into a thick piece. Also, the magnetic strips should be 1-1/2" strips and it should have the peel off paper on the back. The magnetic strips will need to fit the top, bottom, and both sides of the plastic and place the adhesive side on the plastic. It would be a good idea to not leave any bare spots between the magnetic strips because this will cause moisture to seep through the cover.
The RV windshield cover can be store in your car when it's not in use or damp. It would be a good idea to attach some loops to the cover so that it can hang to dry. The loops can be made from any leftover material or the material of your choice. The two loops will need to be attached to the cover. This can be done by sewing or gluing the loops onto the cover. Also, you can roll the cover loosely and store it in the trunk of your car. The finish product should be an RV windshield cover that's ready for use.
