The first topic I will discuss is the dangers of swimming pools. Swimming pools are lots of fun, but can also be very harmful as well. Many kids die from drowning in a pool each year. Pools are usually not very well guarded and kids can enter them easily. Sometimes the parent or guardian is not home or asleep and the kid gets in that way. In my area many kids have died from falling in a pool and drowning. It's a very sad and devastating scenario that should never happen to anyone.
Another danger of pools is falling or jumping in too fast. When someone jumps into a pool they should be very cautious. It is very easy to fall and hit your head in a pool. When you hit your head in a pool you usually sink. People around you may not notice at first and if not you can drown. Hitting your head can usually lead to fatal or severe injuries.
Another danger of pools is the pool water itself. The pool water is probably the worst danger of pools. Pool water can be harmful at any pool whether it is your house or a park. Pool water can easily be contaminated by human waste. When a human extracts waste in the beach it will not affect you in any way. This is because the tide is always moving back and forth carrying everything with it. This is not so with a pool the water stays in one big square. Many people pee in a pool without anyone noticing every year. When a person's urine gets into pool water if digested you can become very sick. When urine is mixed with the pool water it can create a virus called cholramine. If the pool water is then digested some effects are diarrhea, breathing problems, eyes, tummy, and head. You cannot tell if someone pees in a pool because the water does that change color.
Another danger of pools is if someone should poop in a pool. If this happens by a person or even a dog you should immediately get out of the pool. There is another virus that is more dangerous than if urine ends up in a pool. This virus is called cryptosporidium and it can also cause diarrhea and other similar effects. This virus is also known to be hard to cure and can survive in a cleaned pool. These and other reasons are some of the dangers of pools.
The final topic I will discuss is how to stay safe around a pool. When you have little children always make sure you have good pool security. Make sure your pool has a locked door that cannot be entered without a key. Another good idea is to get a gate that is tall and locked for your pool. This way your kids and small children will not be able to enter the pool at all. You should always make sure you keep your key hidden from the children.
If you're at a pool with kids always keep an eye on them. Make sure your kids are never out of your sight. Kids can fall into a pool very fast so always watch them. Another precaution is too always watch where you land into a pool. Many people jump into a pool fast and can hit their head which can result in severe or fatal injuries.
The final safety tip is too always make sure you don't drink the pool water. Pool water can contain viruses from humans that can make you sick. If people extract any kind of waste into the pools you can become ill. This is why you should never drink pool water no matter what. When in a pool one should always keep their mouths closed at all times. If the pool looks dirty or nasty do not go in until it's cleaned. These are some of the ways to stay safe in or around a pool.
In conclusion, swimming in a pool is a lot of fun but always be cautious. There are many risks to swimming in a pool from drowning, hitting your head, and viruses. So be wise and always keep your eyes open and your mouth closed when in or around a pool.
