Here with the borders of America our drinking water supply is safe generally, but occasionally bad stuff does get into it. There is a lot that the people at the American Academy of Microbiology do not know about the causes as well as the chances of the public getting water borne illness. According to their recent report entitled 'Clean water what is the acceptable Microbial Risk', there are more they can do to assure the safety of the public water supply.
Here in America and other developed nations, the people in charge of the water supply have found ways to keep the really bad illnesses away and out of the drinking water. Water quality is still a top concern around the country, because the occasionally serious illnesses and outbreaks do occur at times.
This report looks at what the risks are and how they can control or eliminate these risks to the public. When an outbreak of illness from the drinking water supply occurs, the scientists along with the public health department need to figure out about the condition of the water and the type of outbreak. They then decide where their efforts should be focused to stop the outbreak.
The academy of Microbiology recommends numerous ways to find out the condition of our drinking water supply here in America as well as around the world including an international database that includes information about what the different officials in various locations find in their water supply.
With the right officials having access to this database they could share information about the microbes present in the drinking water, and if a problem arises the officials can use this database to find out how the danger was relieved.
This report also suggests that the public know the basic condition of the water, how it is treated. The said we also need to know the fundamental risks involved so that more of us react to the dangers to keep ourselves safer.
This database would also show the numbers of people sickened by an outbreak so that it is not hear say, once these numbers are validated perhaps the risks can be removed.
