I think Sarah Palin is cool.
She has showed this mom and American that she will proudly stand up for her children and beat the media at its own game. Someone who is that strong and cares that much about her own family is definitely someone I want in my corner helping to run my country.
I've never heard her state that she was never proud of this country...quite the opposite. My number one problem with the candidate for my own party of choice is that in my opinion his wife shouldn't be First Lady of a country she's never been proud of as an adult until this year. Hmmm...I am just a few months older than her but I have been proud of my country many times in my adult life...not the least of which was how we came together in 2001 and how our Republican president stood on the steps of the Pentagon and led us in prayer after the attacks of 9-11. Did none of that register with her? If you think a spouse does not have influence over the other spouse then you have obviously not been in a long-term marriage involving love.
I've never heard her blame anything on racism and she's been utterly polite in regards to the Democratic candidate and his family. She chose to face what the media and the opposition would quickly focus on by firmly stating something that happens in households all over this country. It's not a scandal. How many presidents have had affairs, smoked marijuana, done cocaine in college and had drinking problems? A mother standing by her teenage daughter in a situation hitting home for so many (and no, not I so don't think it's "just because of experience") isn't cause for scandal but cause to show us another strong characteristic of this mother and vice-presidential candidate.
My choice for President in the November election has most definitely been swayed by these two women: Michelle Obama for letting me know in time that she truly doesn't show pride in the greatest country in the world and Sarah Palin, for putting family first and standing strong.
I admire John McCain...he is a POW and has a son in the very country my own son fought in and is still facing recovery from. I have nothing against Barack Obama culture or race-wise yet I am not comfortable voting for a man who's spiritual leader uses the race card constantly to blame America for everything and who's wife again...says she's never been proud of this country before now.
Mrs. Palin, you have my respect, admiration and vote.

Post a CommentI'm amazed that some people are stooping so low as to call Palin a bad mom. It's almost as if they have nothing else to attack her with, so they go down a totally fruitless path out of desperation. Palin is an amazing woman, and the more voters get to know her, the more they will love her.
