The master bedroom is an important room of any home. It is where the home owners sleep. Generally speaking this includes a husband and a wife. Considering this the master bedroom should be an appealing and comfortable place for them both. It should also be a little bit sensual too.

Couples both agree on satin. Women love it because it is so soft and silky. Men appreciate it's quality and style. Neither can complain about the way it feels when you lay your face on it. Satin when used in decorating can add a romantic and sexy touch, especially in the master bedroom.

The bed is the main focal point of the mater bedroom décor. The bedding plays the role of delivering the look and eye appeal. A nice comforter, a bed skirt and pillows are the way to go. All must match but can be blends of different fabrics and textures.

Pillows are a great accessories to use as décor when it comes to bedding. They also add comfort as you rest, relax, or spend quality time with one another.

Buying pillows for décor can be very costly. Making your own is much cheaper. Here's how.

First go to your fabric store and choose your satiny fabric. Chose one or many, it's all up to you. Blend colors or keep them all the same...it doesn't matter! Search out the pillowing stuffing which should be very close to where the fabric is sold. Pick a matching thread and you're set.

Next figure out what size and shape pillows you want to make. It's all up to you. You can make square pillows, rectangular pillows, even triangular pillows if you really want to. You could make them all and have several pillows, satin and beautiful, at the top of your bed, arranged perfectly for décor and comfort.

Use a yard stick and mark the lines on your fabric. Do this to get perfectly straight and even lines. Cut your two pieces two inches larger than you want the pillow to actually be. If you want a 10" by 10" pillow cut your fabric twelve inches by twelve inches.

Next put the two pieces of fabric together so that the "right" sides are facing inward. Fold the edges over one half and inch. Secure them with common pins if you wish and then stitch around three and half sides. Leave the last side open half way and turn the pillow right side out.

Now it's time to insert the stuffing. Pillows that are thinner and flatter have less stuffing in them than pillows that are very fluffy. Add the stuffing until your pillow is full to your taste.

Now it's time to stitch the opening. Fold the edges under and make the stitches from the outside, at the very top of where the pieces of fabric meet.

The last step is optional. The option is to add a fringe or lace around the outside edges of the pillow. It is a nice way to finish them off, adding a little extra touch. It can also hide any stitch marks left from closing up that opening where you inserted the stuffing. That's all! Take care and thanks for reading J
