How to Save Housecleaning

Cleaning the House and Leaving it Odor Free

Sondra C

I finally caught up with my housecleaning in my new house. I cleaned each room from top to bottom. I used a vacuum to clean the carpets and in hard to reach areas of each room. I was exhausted so i took a housecleaning break. Then I went back to finish the house cleaning that still had to be done.

I washed all the floors that were not carpeted. I removed the bathroom carpets and vacuumed them and set them aside. I planned on tossing them into the washing machine later.

I did the same type of cleaning for my oversized kitchen and the linoleum floors. I wiped the kitchen counters along with those in the bathrooms using a wash rag that I dipped into white distilled vinegar. I walked into each room and wiped everything that was not wood with the white distilled vinegar wash rag. The light scent of the vinegar made the house feel clean.

The house smelled even cleaner when I used a cloth cleaning mop to wash all the tiled floors. They dried quickly and had a clean and fresh aroma that brought a smile to my face. This was the cheapest household cleaning product I have ever bought. It only cost me a little over a dollar for a bottle of white distilled vinegar.

While I was in a housecleaning mood, I wiped and removed some of the cat stains from my carpet and computer chair and added a little vinegar to the wash. My cat likes to walk on my kitchen counters so I poured a little bit of vinegar on a rag and walked around to each room washed each counter, table top if they were not made of wood and shined my bathroom and kitchen faucets until they sparkled. I do not think I missed a spot.

By the time I was done cleaning, the entire house smelled fresh, and I was not tired. It was so easy to do because the vinegar did the work instead of my having to scrub. If you find this hard to believe then buy a bottle of distilled vinegar and do the cleaning and see how fast and easy it was.

By the way, I used a cloth mop instead of rubber. It squeezes the water out easier.

Beware! Only use the plain distilled vinegar, any brand except vinegar that has sweet additives in the vinegar. Their sweet aroma once caused a family of ants invade my kitchen.
