How To Save on Your Medical and Dental Bills

Making Health Care Affordable

SDR2010
If you have ever been into the hospital or had a tooth pulled at the dentist, you know just how expensive these services can be. This is the reason most people in the United States do not have health insurance. However, the problem with this is that they cannot avoid the costs when they are driven to the hospital after an accident. They will be given services in order to save their lives.

However, they soon find out that they will be paying top dollar for those services and this can add up very quickly. In fact, most hospitals will bill these people over one thousand dollars each day that they are in the hospital. Since the average salary in America is 30k a year this means that the person will have a lot of trouble being able to pay for an extended hospital stay. Once they get out of the hospital they will get a bill in the mail, which they find to be very expensive and they are unaware of what they can do. There is a way to get this bill reduces if you take a few simple steps:

If you get a bill, which is very expensive, then you should determine if this is the going rate for the services, which you were given. You can call all of the doctors in the area that you were treated and ask them how much they charge for those services. If their prices are a lot lower then you may have a claim.

Get a statement from those doctors just asking them to write down how much they charge for the services.

Mail them to your doctor or dentist with a letter sating that you will not pay more than the going rate and you feel as if you are being overcharged. It is against the law to charge a lot more than the going rate so you can mail them this package with a check for the going rate and mark it as final payment. If they cash the check then your debt is discharged and you are fully paid. I did this for a recent hospital visit and my bill was reduced from $1500 to $100 because of my application. They also provide the same rate to you for future hospital visits. I qualified for 90% discount which I will be given on all my bills for this hospital during the next year which is nice.

However, if you are unable to make the payment then you may want to contact the financial services of the hospital to let them know that you are in need of assistance. They will give you a reduced rate based on your income and you can then take the action about and save thousands.
