$8.00 for mascara and $12.00 for foundation are prices that would make anyone cringe. Luckily, with a little research and planning, you can avoid these high prices. Scour the Sunday paper for makeup coupons and sales circulars. Take advantage of store promotion cards and check out the cosmetic companies' websites to get further discounts.

Clip Coupons for Makeup

The first step to saving money on cosmetics is to check the coupon circulars in the weekly Sunday paper. Each week you can typically find coupons for Maybelline, Cover Girl, Revlon or other cosmetic brands. Since makeup products tend to be pricey, coupons are typically for $1.00 off or more per product. Often there are coupons for mascara, blush, powders and eye shadow products. The available coupons vary from week to week, so scan the coupon inserts for several weeks in a row to find coupons for your favorite brands.

Sign Up for Pharmacy Store Extra Savings Cards

CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens all have cards that give the customer extra savings on products. Cards are often used for special promotions, like the CVS Extra Bucks rewards program. Certain sale items at CVS will result in the customer being awarded "Extra Bucks", which can then be used in the store toward future purchases. In order to take advantage of sale prices and special promotions on makeup, be sure to have the store's extra savings card.

Match Cosmetic Coupons with Sales Circulars for Best Savings

To realize the best savings on makeup products, scan the weekly circulars for cosmetic sales. Match the sale prices on your favorite cosmetics with the coupons for the same products. Use your store card to take advantage of any special promotions. You may have to wait a few weeks for your coupons to have a corresponding sale, but it's worth it to be patient!

Check Cosmetics Company Websites and Facebook Pages

Occasionally, a cosmetics company will offer special coupons and other offers to loyal customers who follow them on-line. Like a favorite cosmetic company's Facebook page to get special offers. Visit the company's webpage to find printable coupons. Sometimes cosmetic companies will offer freebies on a first come, first serve basis to on-line customers.

Makeup products don't have to break the bank. Be diligent about clipping cosmetics coupons, scanning store circulars and taking advantage of special offer cards to get the lowest prices on cosmetics.
